Paddington, Yearling colt

I would like to thank you again for Paddington.  Paddington has more than met my expectations.  He is a lovely chap with a laid back attitude to life that I know he will pass onto his foals in the future.  Paddington is everything a person could want in a coloured cob.  Calm natured and very good looking!  I’m sure my mares will love him next year!  Thank you also for your time and patience in allowing me to explore delivery options at a time when diesel costs have rocketed.

Although Paddington was sold to me at a very reasonable price he did empty my piggy bank completely …… he is worth every penny and will be truly spoilt.  I would recommend Coloured Cob Centre to anyone, they are kind and honest horsepeople –                                  a quality that isn’t easy to find in the horse selling scene.

Thank you again, Angela Letchford

Maverick, 4yr old gelding

I’m writing a few words about Maverick as I feel we have got to know him properly now.  He has the most wonderful nature and is silly and soppy at all times.  We have nick named him Goofy and it seems to really describe him.  He is still a baby in many ways but he is wonderfully confident to hack out, especially alone which is really a treat as our other cob always has to have company.

There is great interest in him wherever we go because of his handsome looks.  He is making us very proud.  He is sound and lovely in every way and loves his food especially apples which are his favourite.  He is a forward going ride but very safe and unspooky.  Everything you said he would be.  Thank you so much, we love him to bits.  We have told so many people to look at your website as you always seem to have the nicest animals.

Best wishes, Vahni and Mark

Indy, 12yr old mare

Indy has settled in well now, as you said she loves her food, man does she love her food! Paul rode her for the first time since his motorbike accident; she was completely good with him. She is so perceptive, she is slower and gentler with me, and yet with Matt and Sasha she knows they want to do more so off she goes! She is just perfect for us as a family, as she adapts to us all with no problem.

Indy loves to be fussed and have cuddles, and always looks up when called. She comes to you in the field every time, you never have to go and get her. We’ve had so many comments about her, people have asked for your website details as they’re looking for a nice cob and are very impressed with her. She is so easy and willing all the time, we can’t praise you enough for your spot on choice for us as a family. Indy is just perfect, and she won’t ever be going anywhere – she’s with us for life. We will keep you informed of her progress and if you are ever in the area you are always welcome to come and visit.

Thank you - JO, PAUL, MATT AND SASHA

Rocky, 3yr old gelding

Cody, 3yr old gelding

Hi, just to let you know that Cody has settled in very well, he is a lovely chap and has now got a friend here for company!  I have attached a picture but will forward a better one very soon!

He is soooooo good.  I have not backed him yet as I decided to wait for the longer evenings, but we will be going on walks round the village soon and he is very happy in his bit!  I think he may have grown a little already so I hope he will reach the magical 15hh but it is not essential as long as he can carry me!

Many thanks to you - Teresa

Chief, 7yr old gelding

Sorry I haven’t emailed sooner but I have been having so much fun with Chief, I just don’t know were the time has gone. He’s such a lovely boy. I have been having some dressage lessons, he appears to be a quick learner, and always willing to please. He has already mastered leg yielding. I’m hoping to do some local shows this summer.

Chief is loved by all the family, thanks for finding us such a lovely cob.

Kind regards - Jackie

Curious George, 8mth old colt

I just thought I would send you a quick email to let you know how George is getting on. He’s absolutely fine and really now showing the true "Curious George”!  He’s interested in everything and anything we are doing on the yard. He’s seeming to trust myself and mum a little more now and will let me brush him and enjoys being scratched on his neck and back just like you said! He’s quite a little Houdini too! He’s absolutely great and a real sweetie.

Thank you very much for everything.

I’ll email you again soon once he’s settled in properly to let you know how he is.

Once again thank you - Nikki

Chevy, 8 mth old colt

All is going really well. Sorry not to have been in touch sooner but I just don't know where the time has gone! Little Chevy has settled nicely and has been a real gem, such a good boy taking everything in his stride. We are thrilled with him. He is out during the day and in at night and always comes when called. I decided to try Chevy in with my new coloured mare Gracie and Walter an elderly fell pony gelding and they are getting on brilliantly. Gracie has adopted Chevy and looks after him, stands over him while he has a sleep etc. I have been spending an hour or so with Chevy every evening grooming etc and this has been very enjoyable and worthwhile as he is learning so quickly and loves the attention.

Do come and see Chevy sometime soon, I think he has grown already!

                                                                           Love- Jane and Chevy

Inca, Rising 4yr old gelding

Inca has been in his stable for most of the winter so when we let him onto the field he trotted, bucked, shook his head and then rolled in the mud. I have been having some refresher lessons on Inca at the local riding school and he has so many fans, I feel really proud that he is mine. He is such a good boy when we are out on the road, nothing seems to faze him.

He really has to be the best birthday present I’ve ever had.

I’m hoping to buy another cob in the future and I know whose web site I will be checking first.

Yours sincerely - Samantha

Sheridan, 10yr old gelding

Just a quick up date. Sheridan had his first ever shoes fitted on Monday, much to the amusement of us all. He was very well behaved and when they were finished, he looked down to investigate what had happened to his feet. For the first few yards he walked like a Tennessee walking horse!

We went for our first hack last night, he was so funny, he jogged for about the first ten minutes, not through naughtiness, just being keen to go out. I was not at all nervous
and was very proud of him. I am planning to ride to the vets on Tuesday, for his first jab and microchip to be done.

If we continue as we are I will be well pleased, he is now beginning to show his character and neighs to my car when we arrive to see him and when I walk about the farm he reminds me if I haven’t given him his hay or dinner. He was great riding out with Molly, but I have no qualms about taking him out on his own. I just wanted to thank you for selling him to me.

King Regards - Lorraine

London and Tatum, both yearling colts

They have both settled so well now and are starting to get really cheeky. By the weekend they had both settled being in  their stables at night and are eating there dinner and hay well! On Saturday they had a great afternoon in the field, running about and then going on their knees play biting each other (bless them).

I must just tell you about this morning, as you can imagine a lot of water about, of which London walks round all the puddles whilst leading him to his field. When we get to the field we notice a very large puddle of water in the middle, London trots straight into this puddle (which was about 20 feet across) starts pawing the ground and guess what, yeap he was on his knees and rolling - my husband Paul didn't want me to put them out coz they may get cold and wet HA HA! He got up with water and mud falling from him and then goes down on the other side, I have bought them both nice new rugs but i don't think I should have bothered - do you?

Every one loves them to bits and they are enjoying all the fuss and cuddles at the stables so thank you so much for my boys and I will keep you updated. We have changed Tatum's name to Indy but London is still London.

THANK YOU AGAIN.

                                                    Kindest Regards  Wendy

Chester, 3yr old gelding

I just wanted to say thank-you!  Chester is a real diamond, he's so full of life and zest.  He may only be a baby, but he just seems to take everything in his stride.

He's cheeky yet willing, loving and has turned into a bit of a celebrity in the village where he is kept.

Everyday I have owned him he has done something to make me smile and his enormous amounts of courage and bravery when faced with new things never ceases to amaze me.
I've had a fabulous summer with him and look forward to many, many more years with my wonderful little cob.

Apache, 6yr old gelding

We love him immensely!!  I cannot thank you enough for selling me such a fabulous horse.

Patch has very much settled into life at the Riding Stables. He has his own fan club of adult and child riders alike. I feel very privileged when I say that I own him. I am sure people look daggers at me because he is such a wonderful horse. A lot of people ask where he has come from and I tell them about you and your lovely horses.

He is so very friendly and is loved by lots of small people when he blows warm air all over them. So far he has done Pony Club Camp with a young girl and helped a more mature rider get back into riding after losing her nerve. He even gave pony rides at our Open Day this summer. Needless to say he had the longest queue!!

He has found his way into everyone's hearts and is such a giving horse, only doing as much as he is asked, no more no less. George, my seven year old has ridden him round the arena and climbed all over him with no problem. On the other hand he has bounced around the Cross Country field enjoying every moment.

You were spot on in your description of him, he is truly faultless in every aspect, with one exception. He is the dirtiest cob ever! Even the Riding School owner says that he wins the Yard prize for getting covered in muck!! Although I have to say you did warn me about this habit. He is forgiven for this behaviour as he is such a honey.

His schooling is coming on beautifully and I would like to learn to ride him side saddle eventually. It will take us both a few years yet but we have time. Patch is most definitely a horse for life and I sincerely hope we grow old and whiskery together!!

I rode him bareback up to the field the other day and felt as safe as houses on him and very comfy I must add!

Keep up the excellent work because you really do touch people's lives with your horses.

Best Wishes and Thank You for finding my Equine Soul Mate

Smurf, 4yr old gelding

Just a quickie to thank you for my lovely boy ‘Smurf’ he is just as you described and coming on beautifully I can’t believe how good he is for his age, he has just begun to come on the bit and looks lovely when he does.

Smurf has settled in well because of his calm laid back attitude and many people have commented on what a nice sort he is and how well marked he is and have asked where he came from!!

He has a really sweet nature and is heading towards being a good dressage horse. Thanks so much for all your info and help.

We’re looking to move house within the next two to three years with land so without a doubt Smurf will need a friend from you!!!!

Thank you so much for a wonderful horse see you in 3 to 4 yrs for another one!

Sparkey, 8yr old gelding

At long last I have found a moment to let you know how we are getting on.
What a lovely boy!  When he arrived here he was understandably a bit confused but even so tried his very best to cope with a new home and new friends. The lovely thing about him is that when you tell him what’s expected he listens.

We went for our first dressage test yesterday, he stayed tied up to the trailer from about 9.30 until 4.00 with a haynet and bucket of water watching all the coming and goings and attracted a lot of attention from the posh people with their lovely bay thoroughbreds and hanovarians!  I think they all thought he was sweet!

I won’t go on any more but I think you get the gist that I am so delighted with him 4 weeks in and I think he has settled really well and seems very happy - he will follow me round the arena after riding with no lead rope he just seems to like to be with someone.

He is definitely giving me my confidence back - you found me a lovely horse.

Dougal, 5yr old gelding

I wanted to thank you so very much for your friendliness and complete understanding of the 'Nervous Rider'. It was so nice to meet someone that did not rush me, make me feel in anyway pressured or make me feel like an idiot for being nervous. Your honesty and openness to give us as much information about Dougal as possible was also very appreciated. It was a real change to meet someone really down to earth in the horse dealing world and I'd have great pleasure in recommending you to anyone searching for the illusive 'Perfect Horse'.

I am hacking out quite happily on my own with Dougal, although I am still going through the pain barrier of not riding in 5 years!!  He is an absolute treasure and is really looking after me, he looks at a lot of things but never stops going forward which is giving me great confidence. The other day whilst hacking in the lane a great big HGV lorry came up behind us, I found a passing space and sat there like a jelly, Dougal stood like a rock and let it pass as though it happens all the time, in fact I think he was more interested in a particularly long bit of grass on the verge!  He also has the sweetest nature and comes over to us in the field for some love and attention.

On Sunday we took Dougal to his first show and did some In hand classes.  He loaded like a dream and got out at the showground like he’d been doing it all his life. He did not in anyway get fazed, just looked around and started munching. He did really well, he came 2nd in Best Coloured and 1st in Best Gelding, winning his first trophy. We were over the moon with him.

Again I can't thank you enough for letting us have this very special man and helping me to enjoy riding again!

Yours very very gratefully - Julie

Domino, 2yr old gelding

Domino is exactly as he was described on the website. He's very well handled, has excellent manners and a brilliant temperament.
I found Tanya to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend Coloured Cob Centre to anyone looking for a well handled and good mannered horse.

Thank you again for little Dom! - Paula

Roscoe, 5yr old gelding

Just to say thank you for the time and attention you gave us when we just turned up at the centre a couple of weeks ago. So I am now the proud owner of Roscoe, aka Teddy. Teddy by name and Teddy by nature, as he has settled in quickly and wonderfully.
He is very forgiving of all my mistakes, and is a real gentleman, with lots of fans around the yard. He is just as you said he is, kind, gentle and honest. As I know very little about horses you could have sold me anything!
I would be more than happy for people to contact me to verify this!

Thanks again - Tricia

Mayday, 9yr old mare

Maisy (as she is now known) is getting on really well. Sara has had lessons on maisy and they are getting on so well that they will be doing a dressage test in the very near future, we might show her aswell.

She is fun to do, ride and has such a fantastic nature.

She honestly is a pleasure to own and we can't thank you enough.
